- Noted Gujarati humourist and essayist Ratilal Borisagar, 81, has won the Sahitya Akademi award for 2019 from Gujarat, for his work ‘Mojma revu chhe’. Born in Savarkundla city in Amreli district, Borisagar is best known for his comics and humour writings
Kaka Saheb Kalelkar :-
- Sawantwadi in Maharashtra which gave his surname Kalelkar. He matriculated in 1903 and completed B. A. in Philosophy from Fergusson College, Pune in 1907. He appeared within the first year examination of LL.B. and joined Ganesh Vidyalaya in Belgaum in 1908.
- Kalelkar received a Sahitya Akademi Award in 1965 for his Jeevan-Vyavastha, a set of essays in Gujarati. He was honored with Sahitya Akademi Fellowship in 1971 for his literary achievements.
Kalapi :-
- Sursinhji Takhatsinhji Gohil, popularly referred to as Kalapi may be a renowned name in Gujarati literature was born within the royalty at Lathi Saurashtra Gujarat.
- He was married with two princess at the age of 15. One princess was Rajba-Ramaba, the princess of Kutch – Roha. She was 8 years smaller than Sursinhji. The second princess was Kesharba-Anandiba, the Princess of Saurashtra-Kotada. She was 2 years older than Sursinhji.
Kanaiyalal Munshi :-
- Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi was a litterateur, novelist, historian, researcher, insurgent and politician of free India. he’s best known for his novels and story telling about 12th to 15th century of Gujarat. He founded Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, an academic trust which is now a renowned institution of academics.
